Development:

  • Negotiate and secure land agreements
  • Prepare and manage planning and consent applications
  • Manage the preparation of environmental statements, environmental reviews and planning statements
  • Review constructability of site and highlight any key construction ricks including site visit and survey
  • Transport assessment of access for abnormal loads
  • Provide indicative CAPEX and OPEX costs to feed into project financial model
  • Technical assessment of site
  • Wind yield and turbine selection
  • Advise on strategy and programme for taking project to financial close and through construction phase
  • Produce key risk report and give investor presentations if required

Pre-construction:

  • Identify any surveys and information required for construction phase, manage the implementation of surveys
  • Prepare contracting strategy and project execution plan for the project
  • Commission and Manage Bank Grade Energy yield assessment and turbine selection review
  • Work with finance and management team on agreed strategy and programme to achieve financial close
  • Finalise any work packages required for any road modifications in order to ensure abnormal load access to the site is feasible
  • Manage the procurement process for all infrastructure and minor contracts required for delivery of project, including preparations of tenders, tender process, evaluation, lenders review, and contract negotiations
  • Manage any ancillary agreements required for delivery of project such as telecoms, grid, metering and additional consents
  • Work with banks advisor’s to review of all project documentation and contracts

Construction:

  • Project management and contract management including
  • Manage implementation of contract and all contractual correspondence on behalf of client
  • Ensure regular progress meetings and reports are provided by contractors and actions are followed up
  • Report to client on progress (monthly) and attend client progress meetings
  • Maintain risk register and management plan
  • Ensure project administration is in place
  • Manage key stakeholder relations and public relations
  • Manage all project interfaces
  • Ensure health and safety standards are maintained
  • Manage any contract claims or compensation events
  • Site management
  • Provision of specialist engineering and technical support for design phase and also installation and site works
  • Provision of safety and environmental manager to oversee compliance regulations and contract
  • Attendance of key commissioning activities and site testing
  • SCADA verification and integration
  • Manage taking over of wind farm from contractor/s and issue completion certificates
  • Manage handover of site to operations team
  • Quality inspection of works including attendance of factory inspections and testing
  • Monitoring of compliance with consents
  • Verify payment milestones and payment certificates
  • Ensure that post take over obligations are managed and that any on-going claims are managed
  • Site visit and inspection of infrastructure to assess and identify any major quality or technical issues that may impact on performance or capital costs

Operation:

  • Ensure handover from construction team is achieved
  • Review of performance and potential enhancements of plant
  • Manage turbine contractors warrantee agreement and ensure that performance is within required limits
  • Manage relations with key stakeholders and landowner
  • Appoint and manage any third party contracts required for operations such as metering, PPA provider, waste management, and telecoms
  • Set up and manage all site records, maintenance files and inspection and test schedule for wind farm

Due diligence:

  • Assess the probability of success development of windfarm project
  • Assessment of wind yield analysis and energy yield
  • Review existing Power Purchase Agreements and grid connection and metering agreements
  • Undertake review of energy production and power plant performance and compare this to forecast energy yield assessment
  • Advise on future OPEX costs including any envisaged major capital refurbishments or abnormal spend required
  • Review of operational strategy and resource requirements
  • Identify key purchase risks
