Greenock Morton Community Trust – Mini Morton Initiative
2020 Renewables are very proud to support local sports groups in Inverclyde. We teamed up with Greenock Morton Community Trust to launch Mini Morton, a football couching programme aimed at kids aged 5-11 across Inverclyde.
Alan Baker, Managing Director of 2020 Renewables stated; “Greenock Morton Community Trust are to be commended for setting up this programme. When they approached us with the idea we were delighted to lend our support. Getting youngsters involved in a physical exercise is a great idea at any time but this scheme has the added bonus of being taught to play football by qualified coaches. Hopefully lots of Inverclyde kids will sign up and who knows we may unearth a future first team player.”
Mini Morton sessions take place weekly at St Columba’s, Clydeview Academy and Inverclyde Academy which allow for the kids to learn new skills in a fun, friendly environment.
Karen Welsh, PR & Fundraising Manager at GMCT said: “We are delighted to have funding from 2020 Renewables for our Mini Morton programme providing more children from a young age the opportunity to get involved while allowing us to grow our programme in the Inverclyde area. The additional funding has allowed us to issue every child that attends Mini Morton with a free training top, making the kids feel like part of the team.”
