Whitelaw Brae Windfarm is approximately 14km to the north of Moffat in the Scottish Borders and approximately 3km to the south of Tweedsmuir. The site comprises a mixture of unimproved, rough, open grazing land and commercial forestry.
An application supported by an Environmental Statement was submitted to the Scottish Ministers on the 11th December 2014 for consent under s.36 of the Electricity Act.
In May 2016 a request was made to the Energy Consents and Deployment Unit to amend the application. Further Environmental Information (FEI) was submitted to the Scottish Ministers with revisions to the turbine layout, including 4MWs of battery storage.
A Public Inquiry was held during August 2016 and we are now awaiting a decision from the Scottish Ministers.
